Accused Former Liberian President, Charles Taylor says the re-location of Former RUF Leader, Sam Bockarie to Liberia was not his personal decision. Why then, did the United States promise Sam Bockarie a military scholarship after his arrival in Liberia? And why were Sam Bockarie and his forces granted full Liberian Citizenship? Former Liberian President, Charles Taylor has confirmed a United Nations report from 2000 which said that Nigerian ECOMOG Soldiers in Sierra Leone traded their guns for diamonds with the RUF Rebels. Mr. Taylor admitted that he too traded with ECOMOG during his rebel war in Liberia. Adolphus Williams has more.

Mr. Taylor is still testifying as a potential witness in his own defence. Today, the United States accused Mr. Taylor of having influence and control over the RUF. Mr. Taylor denied this, saying that the RUF took command from Issa Sesay, who in turn took instruction from his predecessor, Foday Sankoh. Mr Taylor claimed that Great Britain devised the invasion of Liberia in 2000. Adolphus Williams reports from The Hague.

At the end of the fifth week of his testimonies, Accused Former Liberian President, Charles Taylor blamed the United States for the delay in the resolution of the Sierra Leone conflict. Mr. Taylor said he opposed the training of the Sierra Leone Army in the midst of the unresolved conflict in 2000. Adolphus Williams reports from The Hague.
